Another Great Adventure...
Safari Challenge 2006

The Endurance Rally Association's 2nd Safari Classic ran in early 2006 taking crews on an African adventure from Dar es Salaam to Cape Town.

A memorable journey through some of the most stunning terrain on earth, staying at the very best, but often compact, accommodation, enjoying Africa at its best, with maximum comfort.

All meals, small aircraft flights and entrance to game reserves are included in the entry fee, which is based on a double/twin room for two sharing. You only have to pay for beers, petrol, visas, personal insurance, flights and car shipping (we can suggest an agent who is experienced in handling tricky situations in Africa).

You are in good hands – we are now organising our ninth event on the African Continent, nobody has organised more events in Africa for your kind of car.

Our past record includes two three World Cup Rallies, one in Tunisia, one in Morocco, and one all the way across the Sahara to Dakar. We rate the first Classic Safari which drove up from Cape Town to Kenya as one of the best we have ever managed…certainly the most laughter, the most fun! The only downside: If we are serious about finding the very best accommodation, numbers have to be small. You are therefore in fairly exclusive company. The roads, the petrol, all are chosen to be practical for a pre-war car – and the Vintageant brigade last time gave our workshops the fewest problems to sort.

Who can Enter

Anyone can come. But the accommodation is primarily organised for couples, several hotels ONLY offer us double-bedrooms, and given this has a strong social side to things, why not bring your partner? You do not need previous experience, or a competition licence.

We are not going to be “picky” about cars or specifications. Chose what you think will give you enjoyment for three weeks through stunning terrain – the simpler, the better it will be for us to fettle…older cars are not disadvantaged, the pace is designed to be practical for pre-war cars.

On our last event, it was the pre-war cars that proved the most trouble free!
