World-renowned, leading tyre manufacturer to partner HERO for the next three years

Michelin to support Le Jog Reliability Trial from 2020 to 2022

Michelin, which is at the forefront of global tyre development, mobility technology, and motorsport, is increasing its involvement in historic motoring and motorsport through sponsorship of one of HERO Event’s flagship events, Le Jog.

Le Jog, which recently celebrated it’s 25th Anniversary Reliability Trial, has acquired an international reputation for being one of the most challenging events on the historic motorsport calendar as crews battle day and night to win gold, silver and bronze medals. It is a battle not just against each other but also the elements. Both Vintage and Classic cars enter Le Jog, last December there were over 80 entries from 12 countries around the world taking on conditions ranging from severe rain, ice, snow and mud. Ideal conditions for Michelin products to demonstrate their quality and capabilities.

Michelin’s partnership with HERO Events means joining together two world leaders in the vintage motoring and motorsport environment. For Michelin, it is a great opportunity to work with HERO Events and build a close relationship with its large community of passionate motoring enthusiasts by sharing it’s extensive tyre and motorsport expertise.

Commenting on the partnership, Lorenzo Giovanelli, Director of Michelin Speciality Products, said: “I am very pleased that we will be partnering with HERO. It is one of the most prestigious motoring event organisers worldwide, and we both share the same passion for developing and offering premium products and services to our customers”.

Patrick Burke, Managing Director of HERO Events who engineered the agreement was equally positive about the new partnership: “Michelin is a global company with an incredible history of innovation and success, from the invention of the radial tyre to Michelin maps and guides, and it’s long and successful motorsport history.  We are delighted to partner with Michelin – our first-ever tyre brand collaboration.

“Michelin has also been leading the way in terms of sustainability and protecting the environment, a path we will be following strongly in 2020 and beyond. And this is another area where our new partner’s expertise can help add more value.

“We look forward to welcoming Michelin to the HERO family and to developing our partnership in other areas in the future.”
